Ulises Zavaleta Berdeja, Choir Director
Ulises Zavaleta Berdeja was born in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico and grew up in Mount Vernon, WA. He discovered a love for choral music having gone through the choral program at MV. After graduating from Mount Vernon High School, Ulises attended Portland State University to pursue a degree in Music Education with a focus on Choral Music. There he earned the distinction of being the first Hinckley Choral Scholar which provided full tuition remission. While at PSU he sang with the International-Award winning Chamber Choir for four years. After graduating with his Bachelor's, Ulises completed an additional year to earn his Masters in Education. During that year he student-taught at Tigard High School with Robert Hawthorne.
Ulises is a current member of Male Ensemble Northwest (M.E.N.) where he enjoys singing with other Music Educators from the Pacific Northwest.
